Privacy Policy

Venue Beav helps you compare what event venues really cost. This policy explains what information we collect when you use venuebeav.com and how we use it.

What we collect

• Things you choose in the app. Venues, dates, guest counts and similar choices are saved in your own browser (local storage) so the app remembers them. They are not sent to us, except as the anonymous counts described below.
• Things you send us. If you suggest a venue, send an update, or upload a price sheet, brochure, quote or photo, we receive what you submit, including any name, phone number, role, email address, message and files you include.
• Sign-in for the venue. If you work at a venue and ask for a sign-in code, we use your work email to send the code and to confirm which venue you can update.
• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site, prevent abuse and limit spam.
• Anonymous usage counts. When you tap certain buttons, such as Share, Book a tour or Make a Story Card, we add one to a daily total for that button (and, for Book a tour or adding a venue, which venue). These totals contain no cookies, no identifiers and no IP address, and they can’t be linked to you. We use them only to see which features are useful.
• Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
• Sign-in cookie. Signing in sets a short-lived session cookie (vu_s, about 2 hours) used only to keep you signed in.
• Error reports. If the app hits an error, your browser sends us a short error message, the file and line, the app version and your browser type (such as Safari). It contains no names, emails, venue choices or other things you typed.

How we use it

• To run the app and show you venue costs.
• To review and act on suggestions, updates and uploads, and to reply if you asked us to.
• To send sign-in codes that you request.
• To keep the service secure and prevent spam or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Services we rely on

• Cloudflare hosts the site and provides Turnstile, a spam check on our forms.
• Google provides map and Street View images and web fonts. Loading them shares your IP address and browser details with Google.
• Resend delivers email, such as sign-in codes and the files you send us.

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions and messages only as long as we need them to review your request and keep venue information accurate, and then we delete them. Data saved in your browser stays there until you clear it.

• Uploads, suggestions and messages are deleted 12 months after we review them.
• Sign-in code records are deleted after 1 day.
• Records of who has claimed a venue are kept while the venue is claimed.
• Error reports are deleted after 12 months.

Your choices

You can clear the app's saved data at any time by clearing your browser's site data. To see, correct or delete information you sent us, email [email protected].

Children

Venue Beav is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
